Call me Abi, not Abigail – Part two
In the dream, I was walking barefooted and wondering why? Then again, I started running half-naked. In all these scenes, I saw him almost unconcerned about my plight.
In the latter part of the dream, my parents suddenly appeared to comfort me. I woke up gasping for breath and whispering, “no, no, no, this can’t be”. “Could this be true?” “I hope not”, I quickly consoled myself.
I just couldn’t get thoughts of this dream out of my head. I kept affirming to myself, “I don’t believe this dream. Sometimes, dreams are weapons of the devil to steal your blessing.” This was all in a bid to motivate myself.
I was still in deep thought when my phone gulped for breath under my pillow. It was a text message from him.
It read, “things will not fall apart. Our center will hold.”
“Thank you Yeshua Hamashiach…..” I said in Hebrew.
I was so relieved; I didn’t even bother to pray and quickly got out of bed, prepared breakfast, and left for lectures.
At the lecture theatre, our lecturer who usually will not even smile at anyone, started giving us pieces of advice -something he has never done in the past. One of the key things he said was that we should be careful with the people we have close associations with. Because some people can look and act patient but are very dangerous. “What a word,” I mused to myself.
During the last semester of my first year, he invited me to his friend’s party. I gladly agreed, knowing who he was- Mr. Pure.

At the gate of the house where the party was being held, I met a close friend of his in a sensual ‘waist’ embrace with a Level 100 lady I knew. I felt I was dreaming.
I was expecting Mr. Pure to comment on his lewd behavior and set him straight. I however observed throughout the party that he never spoke a word. Knowing who he was, I was doubly sure that he might do that when meet later.
He brought me back to the hostel at 10 pm saying he didn’t want us to stay up too late into the night. “Oh my God! I said it, this guy is for me. Thank you, Lord,” I prayed in my heart.
A week after the party, my mum called me one early morning. She’s been having strange feelings about me. She felt led to warn me to be careful with my life on campus.
I assured her that everything was fine. Actually, It was normal for her to be worried since this was the first time I have been away from home.
She went ahead to drum home her message anyway, finally ending the call with “twenty children don’t play for twenty years, be careful.”

It wasn’t up to three weeks. I started noticing strange but subtle changes in him. I quickly brushed them aside. Perhaps it was just a figment of my imagination playing tricks on me.
Toward the end of the semester, we attended another party together. At the party, he asked me to dance with him. “Eh, what’s going on here?” I was perplexed but excited at the same time.
Whiles dancing, he held my waist gingerly and lightly. “I hope all is well oo and he is equally well oh,” I kept thinking to myself. Thankfully, the party ended around 11:30 pm.
In the taxi, I started feeling drowsy. I heard him give the name of my hostel to the driver.
I woke up at exactly 6 am. To my shock, I was in a room that was not familiar. To my utmost surprise, he was by my side…
