The Reckless Chase

One afternoon, Agbedefu was driving along a busy highway, taking some passengers to town. It was a regular day until something caught his eye—a large grasscutter dashing across the road. He slammed the brakes hard, but the force of his sudden stop caused the taxi to skid out of control. In a matter of seconds, his car crashed into another vehicle—a private saloon car carrying a man and his family. The impact was loud, drawing the attention of people nearby. The peaceful afternoon had turned into chaos.

Agbedefu stepped out of the taxi, his hands shaking. His passengers were unharmed but clearly furious. The driver of the other vehicle, a businessman, emerged from his car, fuming with anger. His wife and children, though safe, were visibly shaken.

Realizing the gravity of his actions, he tried to explain. “Boss, I was only trying to catch a grasscutter,” he said hesitantly.

With no savings to fall back on, he was forced to borrow money from friends and family. The grasscutter he had risked everything for had long disappeared into the bush, leaving him with nothing but regret.
