The torch Light
The Torch Light
You will never appreciate the value of a torch light until you have three days of darkness in your home. You will not really know the danger of darkness until your vehicle’s light goes off without your permission, leaving you in the middle of the road.
I remember a few years ago, riding my bicycle which had no light at about 7 pm. Looking at the situation at hand, I decided to use my phone light. So, with one hand on the steering and the other holding the phone, I rode my bicycle with care so as not to incur the wrath of any pothole. It was a night I will live to remember.
Unfortunately for me, I eventually surrendered to one of the holes, and before I could say, Jack! my phone fell from my hand.
To add more fuel to my fire, instead of this phone falling with all parts intact it decided to scatter in different directions.
The battery went one way, the cover went another way and the phone itself chose another direction.

Now my source of light is gone. I had to get down and look for my source of light. At this point, it was not just my phone but my source of light.
So, I bent down straining my already stressed eyes to look for my phone. I also used my hands to assist my eyes in the search. I was still doing my search when suddenly, I saw a man approaching me holding a torchlight.
As he approached, my visibility improved and I quickly located my phone parts and picked them up. Alas, my frustration came to an end.
So why all this winding story? I will tell you
The Bible says the word of God is a lamp unto our feet and a light to our path (Ps 119:105).
To put in my understanding, I will say, a wordless life will be lightless life. With so much darkness in us and around us, we will need a considerable amount of light to survive. For somebody, the light I am talking about means a certain level of understanding or insight into a particular area of life. For another, the light for you might mean a fresh release of fire in your spiritual walk with God. Whichever way it comes to us, we all need light.
Light brings Speed, light brings clarity, and it makes us avoid the potholes of life. Anytime you take the word of God to read and meditate upon, one prayer should pray is this: Lord open my eyes to behold you and your ways (Ps 199:18).

Ultimately, we have to understand and have that full conviction that JESUS CHRIST is that great light. There is no darkness in him. In him was life and that life became the light of men (John 1:4).
Just like without that torch light I was still groping in the darkness looking for my scattered phone, our lives will remain scattered, bartered, and tattered until that great light enters our lives.
May every form of darkness in our lives give way to our soon-coming King, Jesus- the savior of the world.
For the love of God, society, and young people.
