Combining pregnancy with education is increasingly becoming difficult for young girls though the rate of pregnancy in our schools are in the ascendency.

The irony of this issue is that, while the boys or men who get these girls pregnant are feverishly preparing for the same examination or moving freely, it is a torturous journey for the young girls they put in this condition.

No matter the level of ones willingness to give birth, the challenges which come with pregnancy and delivery does not go on vacation just because you are a student.

That was the exact case of a 17 year old pupil at Nkwanta south on the 18^th of October, 2022. Reports from Adom News indicate that the young girl went into labour while writing her paper and had to be rushed to a nearby clinic for the delivery.

Surprisingly, like a Hebrew woman of biblical days and knowing what was at stake, she appeared the next day at the examination centre to continue the examination.

When asked why, she said she wants to pass her papers and continue her education.

A check by Adom News on the baby indicates that the Nurses are seriously monitoring the health of the baby.

Well, such is the consequence of our actions. In as much as we salute the courage of the young girl and wish her well, it should be said loud and clear that we need to pay attention to our young girls so that things like this will be avoided.

Let every young girl reading this also know that the pressure in handling pregnancy and examination is so tough that you don’t have to experience it before you learn from it.

As for the young men, they move on and continue their education, it is you who will bare the thorns of baby responsibility and have your education truncated or delayed.
