He entered his room only to receive a message from Commander Carlos that there will be a huge reshuffle at the Police headquarters, but he is still trying his very best to help them.
He also added that this time round, he will charge 50 000 cedis if he succeeds in helping his colleague escape.
“This is getting serious”, he said aloud.
“What will I do now? Alhaji too will not pick calls so we know the next line of action.”
Azuree had also been informed that Interpol has picked up information that one of the Barons has been linked to Nigeria.
The two men stayed in the Guest House for one week without meeting each other.
In Accra, the battle raged on. Yaovi’s accomplice, Benson has refused to talk no matter the pressure and torture they gave him. The more they tortured him, the tougher he became. Not even the threat of a death sentence could make him open his mouth let alone divulge any secret.
At the meeting with the Inspector General of Police, Commander Carlos told the IGP that it was becoming difficult to get any information from Benson. He suggested to the IGP that they move him to another station in the Police Service so they cross-examine him again.
“You are one of my trusted men on this issue. No failure please.”

Unknown to the IGP, they had planned to let him go under the pretense that he fled out of custody.
Commander Carlos upon entering the room where Benson was being cross-examined quickly scribbled the plan on paper and gave it to him to read.
He then called the officers and ordered them to beat him again.
Unknown to the officers on duty, Commander Carlos had stationed his choice ‘officers in crime’ to overpower the officers on duty.
“You don’t need to carry too many arms while moving the prisoner. We are winning this fight.”
“Sir, please, I think otherwise,” a junior officer interjected. You may never know and you can never tell what will happen in transit.”
“Do you want to teach me my job? When did you join this service.”
Eventually, his words prevailed and Benson was whisked into a standby pickup.”
On their way, they were ambushed by masked men, heavily armed
They in no time disarmed the men on duty and fled with Benson.
The Head Office was immediately notified yet, it took Commander Carlos an extra thirty mins to dispatch another team to the scene. By the time they finally arrived, the men had escaped with the culprit.
All hell broke loose at the Headquarters as Commander Carlos summoned all the officers who went for the operation.
“This is unacceptable!” he raged.
“And you call yourselves professionals? I will make sure you get demoted. Just pray hard that the IGP does not sanction me. If he does, you will all taste of my wrath.”
Sergeant Wiredu, the officer who earlier on requested that more arms be taken for the operation decided not to say a word lest he further incur the wrath and displeasure of his boss.

Only God knew how Azuree and Yaovi lived in the same Guest House for one whole week without bumping into each other. It came to a time when the receptionist nearly broke Azuree’s promise but she advised herself.
After Interpol alerted the Ghana Police Service about Yaovi crossing borders into Nigeria, Annahs was cautioned to be careful around town since Yaovi had many links in town.
He was also informed that the police department has been infiltrated so he had to be extra careful with releasing any information to them.
According to Interpol, the top hierarchy of the Police Department had a divided front on how to combat this particular crime.
Azuree in his room thought about the whole case and wondered whether it was worth pursuing.
*What is this all about? Why disturb myself? The people who claim they are helping us are not cooperating.”
When we finish this assignment, the next Institution we will investigate will be the Police Service,” he said to himself.
“The crime in the crime fighter’s department is too alarming. This is too much.”
Snapping out of his thoughts, he called his Assistant in Ghana to give him the latest update as he prepares to come home.
“Friday is my departure day. I need to work out a strategy before I move. I am confused as to whether to take the Aflao border or the Segbe border. The journey will determine my route. You never know. You never can tell…”
