Count your Troubles, Name them One by One and it will surprise you what the Lord has taken you through
It is true that when we count our blessings and name them one by one, we will be shocked to see what God has done. When we do that, we will realize that after all, God has tried for us.
This will make us avoid complaining and murmuring. It makes us thank God ceaselessly. This is why I believe; the songwriter wrote the song COUNT YOUR BLESSING….

How on earth should I say you should count your troubles? Why should you go on memory lane, remembering your challenges?
Well, it is not for remembering sake that I am saying count your troubles. I am not saying count your troubles so you start complaining. I have a different perspective on this.
The truth of the matter is that we are good at recounting our challenges, problems, and troubles. Yes, we do. But when we remember them, we use it as an opportunity to murmur and secretly complain.
Sometimes, when we recount our woes, we use them as depression pills and pity tablets. We begin to see how huge our troubles are and how far we think God has ‘traveled’ away from us.

This time round things need to change. Oh Yes! Count your troubles and name them one by one and you will be amazed at what God has taken you through.
Since you are alive, it is a great testimony that God has tried. If the troubles were meant to kill, you are reading this because you have triumphed by His Grace. Psalm 150 verse 6 said let everything that has breath, praise the Lord. (Whether they have troubles or not)
Even if your troubles are as tall as the coconut trees in my village in Badagry, they are too short compared to the height of our God.
When you count your troubles with this attitude, instead of murmuring, I want you to be filled with thanksgiving. When you count your troubles, you will be filled with wonder. You will be shocked by the fact that you made it through that trouble that nearly took your life, that nearly brought you shame and reproach.
One thing this will surely do to you is it will magnify the supremacy of God over your difficulties. You will be amazed about how timely he intervened and how close he has been even in the midst of the fire. This is absolutely different from having a pity party with yourself because of your troubles.
Alas, you will find yourself saying, if God did this one, then he can do that one. You can talk like the Hebrew boys in the days of Prophet Daniel: Our God is well able to deliver, in case he decides not to deliver, we will not bow.

King Solomon of old said a living dog is better than a dead lion. Once you are alive, it means he rescued you through something. It is not automatic that when we sleep, we have to wake up. Even in the midst of the troubles, he keeps waking us up.
Furthermore, this attitude draws us closer to God through prayer. Your reliance on God shoots up.
The year 2022 had its own challenges and troubles. You had your share and I had my share. Should you carry your problems everywhere and tell everybody how difficult things are? No. instead, let your troubles alert you about his presence even in the midst of the problems. Have a productive 2023
