Uncle Ebo Whyte is one of the men of influence in the Ghanaian creative and arts industry. He has stayed consistent with his craft to the admiration of many and his work always exudes the values of hope, love, family fidelity, and a value-driven society.

One major and very visible thing you can’t take away from uncle Ebo is that he is a Christian and a preacher of Jesus. He is not in clericals but he is clear enough about his stand for Jesus and the Bible.

His message on Good Friday got me thinking-There will always be a Judas. Why should it be you?

Whenever the story of Judas is read, we are quick to judge him without taking any lesson home. At best we are quick to identify the Judas around us.

As good as that is, Uncle Ebo in his message decided to redirect the gun to ourselves.

Yes, there will always be traitors like Judas but must it be you? …… ‘must it be you’ phrase got me thinking.

‘Somehow in God’s mysterious and strange ways, some unpleasant things may happen to you to force you to your next level. As human beings, we crave comfort and tend to comfortably settle in the place God has brought us, forgetting that it may have just been a stopover for the rest of the journey.

So to orchestrate that move, there needs to be a Judas’  As terrible as a Judas experience can be, Uncle Ebo is encouraging us to look at the good it does for us…… it pushes us to a new phase of life and new way of understanding life.

When you feel betrayed, quickly learn the lessons, heal, and move on with life.

He concluded with these lessons.

1. There’ll always be a Judas, why should it be you? So watch your thoughts and attitude so you don’t become Judas.
2. Don’t be bitter against your Judas. Don’t move against your Judas. Look, Jesus without crucifixion will still be a superstar but the necessary betrayal and crucifixion brought a greater purpose -moved Him from superstar to Messiah.

So understand that God is in this, He allowed it so He’ll use it for your good! If you’re bitter, you’ll hold yourself back from the promotion. And remember not ‘Why has God permitted this person to do this TO me?’

Rather ‘Why has God permitted this to happen FOR me?

Wow! Very touching message and full of lessons for he who cares to listen. Not to ‘distort’ his message any further, I will stop here.

I can only say, recognize your Judas, and don’t be a Judas yourself.
