Be careful about the things you preach against- Seth Agbeli Kunkpe
You’re welcome to another exciting article from me. I hope you are doing well and that the articles you read on my page, whether from Facebook or our website, have been beneficial. Don’t forget to leave your comments and share our work.
There is something I’ve observed as a writer and a preacher. In life, while nobody would dispute the fact that God has called you, you must also be very careful about how you live your life.
I’ve said this before: with great responsibility comes the expectation that a preacher should live above average. The scripture is clear about what God demands from His servants. But, as humans, we often fall short.
I’ve seen in my life and history that preachers can be very strong in preaching a particular message, only to become guilty of the very things they preach against. That is why I am writing this article. I want to remind preachers, hearers, and advocates of any ideology to be careful about the things they preach or advocate for, so they do not become guilty of them.
In my young life, I’ve seen people preach about holiness, only to later fail in that area. I’ve seen people preach about money, warning us to be careful about its influences and to guard our hearts against its corrupting power, only to fall victim to the very things they warned against.
Be careful about the things you preach against
Read:The reckless cleric
My dear brothers and sisters, be careful so you don’t become guilty of the things you are passionate about. The agenda of evil, or Satan, is to spoil your reputation concerning the things you are passionate about. When that happens, he deflates your boldness and audacity to preach that particular message.
We are in the last days, filled with so much evil. If ever there was a need for preachers to advocate for good, it is now. Unfortunately, as humans, we often become guilty of the very things we should stand against, losing the courage to talk about them.
That is why I humbly come to you this morning, urging you to consider your ways. Ensure you don’t become guilty of the very things you are called to preach about.
Whether it’s about marriage, financial prudence, or any other issue, remember that the enemy will lead you into temptations around the things you are most passionate about. His goal is to discourage and deflate you, making you weak and hesitant whenever you rise to address those issues.
As Ephesians 5:15 says, “Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity because the days are evil.”
See you in the next article.
For the love of God and society in young people,
Blessings.
