Until you do what you have never done, don’t expect to see what you have never seen

Life is full of expectations. It is full of desires and wishes. Most times, our wishes are so high that our wisdom cannot even understand. Our expectations and desires are up to the roof, higher than the tower of babel (lol).

What we lack as a people is the energy required to accomplish our desires. The year is gradually rolling up. It will interest you to know that most people will start wishing for new things. New ideas, new visons and new goals. Unfortunately, most of us will not attempt to even review what we wanted to achieve this year:

Did we accomplish it?
What didn’t we do well?
What can we do to improve our lives etc.

We will sweep all under the carpet. What we will rather do is start dreaming again when not even a tithe of our plans has been scratched. Even though there is nothing wrong in principle with dreaming again, there is everything wrong with not reviewing the year.

To put it bluntly, we are our own doing as far as the accomplishment of our goals are concerned. Just take a look at your plans for 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022. You will realize that the easiest part of the year was when you started planning with beautiful ideas which never saw the light of day.

For us to get things done even before this year ends, I have an idea. Truly speaking for most of us, we don’t need any new dreams and new plans.

All we have to do is to dust our old plans and push them through. Sometimes I am amazed at the things I wrote down two , five or even ten years ago.

So, for the next year, this is my candid opinion for every young person reading this. Until you attempt something stronger or harder than you have ever done , your result may be the same next year. You have to be willing to pay the price in other to receive the prize of your labour.

I can tell you without minscing words, that things will remain the same for you next year until you do what you have never done.

For some people it will be an extra push at the work place.
For some body it will be an extra commitment to the word of God and prayer.
For someone else it might be a more creative way of doing the same thing you are doing now with little attention.

We have to decide to go the extra mile in every good thing. I know it is by the grace of God. Yes! that’s absolutely correct but the last time I checked, the grace of God rewards diligence, excellence and creativity. Grace even goes ahead to teach you to avoid unrighteousness and to live sober lives.

I beseech you by the mercies of God to go back and dust your old plans. Sometimes every unaccomplished plan just adds to our files of ‘no work done’ and increases our level of frustration.
